GNSI's Academic Director, David Oakley, PhD has a conversation with David Gioe, PhD, a Visiting Professor of Intelligence and International Security in the Department of War Studies, to talk about how information gathering has changed with the implementation of artificial intelligence. 

 


Episode 10: Lt. General (Ret) John Shanahan with Dr. Andrew Whiskeyman

As part of their appearances in the third GNSI Tampa Summit: Artificial Intelligence in the Era of Strategic Competition, Andrew Whiskeyman, PhD and retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General, John Shanahan, sat down together to talk about the future of AI in the national security space, as well as what role AI will have in global strategic competition.


 

Episode 9: Artificial Intelligence Conversation

Professor Nicolas Sabouret of the University of Paris-Saclay, discussed AI with two USF subject matter experts, Professors John Licato and Norma Alcantar. They delved into the rapidly emerging technologies both on a global level, as well as on what their respective programs are contributing and working on.

Mantz, President/CEO of Feeding Tampa Bay, discussed with Dr. Himmelgreen many of the topics covered in the first GNSI Policy Dialogues: Hunger as a Weapon - but on a much more localized level. They also discussed FTB's massive positive impact on hunger in the Tampa Bay region.

We sit down with one of the senior leaders at the United Nations' World Food Program USA, Dr. Chase Sova. He's the Senior Director, Public Policy and Thought Leadership, and the lead author of WFP's latest watershed report, Dangerously Hungry: The Link Between Food Insecurity and Conflict.

Dr. Golfo Alexopoulos, a professor at USF and the Director of the Institute for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies, as well as a member of the GNSI Board of Faculty Advisors, is joined by James Coker II,  the Ukraine Desk Office for the U.S. State Department, for a candid conversation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, lessons learned so far and the many ways the US and rest of the world are helping that country prepare for the end of the war and the ultimate re-building.
