How to Apply for J-1 On-Campus Employment

J-1 students must complete the to work on campus.  You will be required to upload your USF Departmental Job Offer Letter to the E-Form.     

CONSIDERATIONS:

  • On-campus employment is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • EMPLOYMENT OFF-CAMPUS IS RESTRICTED. Check with an advisor in OIS regarding off-campus work options such as Academic Training.
  • Please allow 3 business days for the completion of the request.
  • We will provide you with a letter of authorization after your on-campus employment is approved in SEVIS.
  • You will be contacted by email when your authorization letter has been processed and is ready for pick-up. Please ensure that the email addresses and your local mailing address listed in Student Self-Service (formerly OASIS) are up-to-date.
  • Please remember that you may not begin employment until you have been approved and have taken the authorization letter to USF Human Services (SVC 2172).
