BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Conrad Crane recently retired from the Strategic Studies Institute of the Army War College, after 24 years, including a stint as Director of the US Army Military History Institute and teaching student seminars. Before that he served 26 years of active duty in the Army, including 12 years teaching history at the US Military Academy at West Point, eventually leading the Military History division. He has written extensively on airpower and landpower subjects, including books and monographs on the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and more contemporary conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
