Frequently Asked Questions for Undergraduate Graduation

How do I withdraw my graduation application?

A. You must email the sender of the graduation confirmation notification that you wish to withdraw your application. Please be aware that your request for withdrawal may be denied if you are in jeopardy of going beyond the timeframe for degree completion as it pertains to USF's Degree Progression policy: Degree Progression and Completion Deadlines policy

How do I know if I am eligible to purchase the honors medallion for the graduation ceremony?

A. Those who are eligible for honors at graduation will be on a USF Bookstore list. Eligibility to purchase the medallion is based on your most recent end of term GPA calculations. You must have a minimum of 40 graded USF hours, a USF GPA of 3.5 and a cumulative GPA of 3.5. In order to determine eligibility for honors, courses that are excluded in your GPA via transfer course repeats and/or USF's grade forgiveness policy are added back into the GPA calculation.

Why does it take so long to receive your diploma after the ceremony?

A. Final grades are not due until after the ceremony and once grades are posted by the University, the Colleges and the Office of the Registrar take approximately four weeks to verify grades, approve or deny degrees, and post and proof degree outcomes. It then takes approximately ten working days from the time of ordering of the diploma to reach you.

I have a job offer and can't wait that long to prove my degree?

A. The College of Arts and Sciences will be happy to provide you with a letter of completion upon your request. Graduation Verification Letter request forms are available via our website under Forms.

Please note The official USF transcript showing your degree and diploma will not be available until approximately 10 weeks after the end of the term.
