Skills Employers Seek

A variety of recent studies reveal that American employers seek the very same skills that our Sociology and ISS degrees foster. These include: creativity, innovation, social skills, excellent oral and written communication, listening, collaboration, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, strong math and science skills, and multi-cultural and global understandings. One study that reveals this is The National Bureau of Economic Research's 2017 study (NBER Working Paper No. 21473).
