USF to rapidly develop technologies for the military with new cutting-edge lab
The Rapid Experimentation Lab, managed by the USF Institute of Applied Engineering, puts engineers with different areas of expertise in the same room, dramatically reducing the amount of time it typically takes to build a prototype. It’s part of a five-year, $85 million contract with U.S. Special Operations Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base.
