CENTER FOR MIGRANT EDUCATION

Center for Migrant Education | USF

The mission of the Center for Migrant Education is to join with local, state, and national agencies and organizations to improve education and related services for migrant children and their families through the development and study of programs and training addressed at special needs. The Center provides services and support for students from farmworker families such as individuals who have dropped out of school, students transitioning into and completing their first year of college, and students majoring in education.


DAVID C. ANCHIN CENTER FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF TEACHING

David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching

Established in 1991, the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching's mission is to collaborate with teachers, school leaders, districts, and other educators to improve the quality of education for students and to transform the teaching profession to attract, retain, and develop quality educators. The Anchin Center achieves this mission through partnerships with schools, the broader educational community, business and industry, and the community at large.

The provides professional learning, digital content, and technology integration evaluation services to schools and districts worldwide. The Center’s free resource websites average over two million hits per school day from nearly 200 countries and territories. FCIT hosts a variety of resources such as courses, the suite of technology integration evaluation tools and the College of Education’s iTeach Lounge.


GUS A. STAVROS CENTER FOR FREE ENTERPRISE AND ECONOMIC EDUCATION

Gus A. Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education

The Gus A. Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education works to advance the effective teaching and integration of free enterprise, financial literacy, entrepreneurial thinking, and other appropriate “global literacies” into the K-12 curricula. Providing resources in support of educators from across six school districts (Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties), the Center provides exemplary professional development programs, curricula development efforts and other strategies to ensure that K-12 students have the knowledge and skill-sets needed to be successful in the global economy.


Institute for School-Community Partnerships, Integrated Services, and Child Mental Health and Educational Policy

The is a nationally recognized research and training center that provides technical assistance to school districts and other service delivery leaders throughout the United States. The Institute’s $20 million budget is derived from grants from federal, state, and private sources. Through this work, the Institute envisions that all schools in the state of Florida will have the capacity to provide a safe, effective, and efficient environment to continuously improve the academic, social and emotional growth of all students and to actively engage families and communities in the schooling process.

The School Mental Health Collaborative (SMHC): Research, Training, and Technical Assistance Center at USF was established in 2022 by faculty within the School Psychology Program. The mission of the new SMHC Center is to facilitate and promote access to high-quality and evidence-based school mental health practices throughout Florida and the U.S. The SMHC Center at USF includes $15 million in funded projects from national and state agencies, that focus on positive psychology intervention, suicide prevention, school threat and violence reduction, mental health and resilience assessment and curricular supports. These projects will also facilitate the training of the next generation of school mental health leaders.
