Dr. Brittany is a knowledgeable expert in behavioral health, dedicated to making a positive impact and advocating for change. With an extensive background in community mental health and a commitment to excellence, she has garnered diverse qualifications and achievements throughout her professional journey.


As a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained practitioner, certified in addictions, Dr. Brittany brings a wealth of expertise to her role as a licensed practitioner across three states.


Dr. Brittany is not only dedicated to her professional pursuits but also passionate about advancing minority mental health and challenging policies that affect black and brown communities. Her dynamic lectures are filled with profound knowledge, reflecting her commitment to dismantling stigmas and disparities within behavioral health.


Dr. Brittany serves on numerous boards and committees focusing on substance misuse, child welfare, and community mental health at both local and state levels. She is a member of the Statewide Dependency Court Improvement Panel (DCIP), serves as the current President of the Board of Directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness Pinellas (NAMI), and is a board member for the Pinellas Black Health Equity Alliance (BHEA), among many other community organizations

Dr. Brittany’s endeavors to inspire change and address disparities has been recognized through features in reputable publications such as the Tampa Bay Times and the Weekly Challenger (St. Petersburg, FL). Notably, the National Urban League acknowledged her dedication to the community, naming her as an Emerging Leader in 2022. Locally she has been recognized for inspiring change as a mental health professional in the community.

Dr. Brittany Peters is a passionate advocate for mental well-being. Dr. Brittany earned her BSW and MSW from Florida State University and her Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.


Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Brittany finds solace in working out, diving into compelling reads, and embarking on solo travel adventures. Not to forget the delightful company of her Mini Schnauzer named Herschel.
