Dr. Lauren Arrington earns National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship
Dr. Lauren Arrington, chair of the Department of English, has earned a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Public Scholars Fellowship. The fellowship will allow her to complete her book about how the New Dealâs art projects enabled a network of women artists to engage in advocacy efforts during the time.

The impact of trust in medical providers and how women deal with their cancer risk
Department of Communication's Dr. Marleah Dean Kruzel worked with an interdisciplinary team to examine what factors influenced women's decision making in managing their inherited cancer risk, particularly among those with gene mutations known to cause breast cancer.

Doctoral student and Fulbright scholar Glenda Vaillant Cruz traveled to Spain to examine the Latin American student experience in higher education and reflects on the importance of her mentorship with Dr. Beatriz Padilla, director of ISLAC and associate professor in the Department of Sociology.

USF highlighted by leading GIS software company for lidar education
Steven Fernandez, associate professor in the School of Public Affairs, has served as a source of knowledge and information for ESRI (ArcGIS)âa GIS software company specializing in interactive mapping toolsâfor the past two years, meeting with the company every few months to assist in improving their 3D products and provide knowledge on what heâs teaching in his lidar courses. Now, they are using his work as examples of their companyâs newest capabilities.
